Asia-Pacific is home to more than half of the world’s 8 billion population, and the majority of the population are women.

This World Population Day is an opportunity to change how governments and society think about population trends to focus on the individual, not the number.

Because while counting people is important, we must remember that every person counts -- and every woman must have the power of choice to decide if and when to have children. 

It is only then that we can create a world of infinite possibilities for all.
